Melanie has earned the prestigious title of Maestra Madonnara for her street paintings in both Italy and Germany—an honor reserved for master-level artists in the centuries-old tradition of street art.
Melanie began street painting in 2000, driven by a passion for turning everyday spaces into moments of wonder. Since then, she’s created murals and street paintings across the globe—earning awards and recognition for work that blends fine art techniques with large-scale visual storytelling.
As the creative force behind every project, she became a street art powerhouse long before co-founding We Talk Chalk, Inc. with her husband, Remco in 2012. Through their company, she continues to design and direct mural and 3D street painting projects for festivals, town revitalizations, museums, conventions, and iconic landmarks around the world.
One of her favorite projects to date is the hand-painted domed ceiling inside the newly renovated Grand Entrance of Caesars Palace in Las Vegas—an artwork now seen by millions of visitors each year.
Every mural she creates begins with imagination and heart—whether it’s a whimsical fantasy scene or a classically inspired fresco. These works invite the viewer to step into a story, to see the world from a slightly more magical point of view.
