A Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America, Melanie is the Co-Founder of two prominent organizations in the chalk painting world, Street Painting Society and the Street Painting Academy. She began Street Painting in 1998 and has painted in festivals throughout the US and Internationally. The only woman to have won the title of 'Maestro' and several Gold Medals in both Italy and Germany, Melanie Stimmell is an internationally recognized street painter, working with clients in Turkey, Holland, France, Canada, and throughout the U.S. Commissioned by corporations and ad agencies for special events, performance art and interactive media which includes tv, film, and print, Melanie's street paintings convey the spirit of creativity, art, and culture.

 

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Melanie earned her BFA in Illustration from the prestigious Art Center College of Design and a Masters in Drawing and Painting from Cal State Fullerton. She began her career as a free lance illustrator for children's magazines and educational toys and soon landed a job as a Lead Technical Director for the feature film 'South Park'... Bigger, Longer, and Uncut.' Upon completion of the film she was asked to join the crew of the very popular 'South Park' series where she worked for 7 years. Leaving the entertainment industry to follow her passion and paint full time Melanie has found her voice in street painting and figurative art. Melanie has shown at prominent Southern California Galleries such as La Luz De Jesus, The Brewery, The 57 Underground, Spring Arts Collective, and the Deborah Martin Gallery.
